Guns and Freedom.

Guns 3

“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution

Being an American means that you are free.  Free to live your life on your terms as long as you do no harm to another, steal from another, or infringe on the freedom of another person, when you do, you are then breaking the law and spirit of freedom and liberty.  If you try to force another person to live or believe like you, you are a tyrant.  Certainly there are better ways to live than others and encouraging someone to live in those ways is not evil or bad, but forcing another to do so is where the loss of freedom begins.

Take for example the current debate in America concerning guns:  The liberal left believes that law-abiding citizens should not have access to weapons that the left deems are too dangerous.  They believe and promote that guns kill untold numbers of people just by being in existence.  Liberals believe that because someone stupid shoots up a school or movie theater that all weapons should be banned.  This logic is flawed.  It is a proven fact that when businesses, schools, government buildings, etc enforce “Gun Free Zones,” that the only people harmed or killed by this type of idiotic law are law-abiding citizens.  It makes ZERO sense!!!  How does taking guns from law-abiding citizens hurt criminals?  How does banning guns hurt criminals?  THEY ARE CRIMINALS!!!  THEY DON’T OBEY THE LAW ALREADY!!!

Liberals do not understand or believe in freedom!!  If you do not want a gun…………………..DON’T HAVE ONE!!  DON’T OWN ONE!!!!  It’s just that simple.  Those who understand the nature of freedom and believe in its principles will not enforce their will on another if that person doesn’t like or want it.  I am fine if liberals do not want guns of their owns but to disarm a population because of the actions of a few is foolish.

Make no mistake about the fact that this debate is NOT about guns but control.  This is a debate between Liberty and Tyranny.  Facts are facts:

Guns 2

More people are hurt or killed because of gun bans, Gun Free Zones, and other stupid liberal gun laws than they are made safe.  The problem with this debate is that Liberals REFUSE to acknowledge facts that prove their views or beliefs are incorrect.  There are TONS of stats that show that when citizens are armed the death rate is significantly lower than had no one been armed but the killer or gunman in a mass shooting.

The truth is that as American’s we have rights.  Rights that are granted to us NOT by the government but by our Creator.  We have the right to defend ourselves, our families, and properties from those that would try to harm or steal from them.  God Himself gave us these rights and governments only job is to recognize them and protect them for all people.  That’s it!!  When government officials try to ban or steal right they have become tyrannical and should be removed from office.

Law-abiding citizens have no need for laws to restrict their liberty and they should not be penalized for the actions of criminals because it’s convenient for liberals to have a monster to chase.  If Liberals really cared about the people they would demand that government work more efficiently for the people.  I won’t hold my breath though.

Until next time.

Much love,

Shawn

Doing what his father couldn’t.

Rand Paul

“On Wednesday March 6, 2013 Rand Paul walked onto the Senate floor just another Senator, 13 hours later he walked off a hero.”

On Wednesday March 6, 2013 Sen. Rand Paul did in 13 hours what his father Congressman Ron Paul had tried to do for the last eight; bring together the different factions of the Republican Party.  What Sen.Paul accomplished may not be seen by the RINO Republicans like John McCain or Lindsey Graham or their libtard buddies they were eating with Wednesday night, but it was seen and felt by MILLIONS around the nation as one man took a principled stand against an imperial President who was forced to answer one man’s question.

Please don’t get me wrong, I am and have been a Ron Paul fan since the first time I learned about him in early 2004.  I supported both his recent runs for President, supported Campaign for Liberty, and have read his books.  I love this man!!  He is a hero of mine and I will be eternally grateful for his life (and his kindness, both times I had the chance to meet with him).  Ron Paul woke millions of people up to the ideals of freedom and liberty and revived this nations understanding of the Constitution and the Founding Fathers.  He stood as the lone defender of Freedom and Liberty for years and never gave up and now the fields he has plowed are beginning to bear fruit.

Deep down I think that Dr. Ron Paul knew all along that this was how things would really happen.  I think deep in his heart he knew that the restoration of Freedom and Liberty in this country would begin with him but come to fruition somewhere down the road.  Dr. Paul is and always has been a man ahead of his time, he was the farmer planting the seeds of liberty that his children and grandchildren would see.

While Rand Paul may be reaping a the harvest of a growing Liberty Movement it is because his father planted the seeds.

Until next time.

Shawn

Sen. Rand Paul Filibuster Highlights

Rand Paul stands for Freedom.

Rand Paul 5

Something happens inside the minds and hearts of people when another human being takes a principled stand against corruption and doesn’t back down.  That is what happened Wednesday night in Washington D.C. on the floor of the U.S. Senate.  Sen. Rand Paul stood for nearly 13 hours and filibustered the nomination vote of John Brennan for CIA Director after the Obama administration refused to answer one simple question from the Senator from Kentucky:

“Does the President have the authority to kill U.S. citizens on U.S. soil with drones?”

Not really the hardest question in the world.  It’s not like Sen. Paul began his question like this:

“Three men are in a cafe, one is a known terrorist, the other two are employees who have brown eyes and blond hair.  If the terrorist is on U.S. soil can Russia make bread?”

No, he just asked a simple yes or no question of the President and never heard back from the President or his staff until the day after the filibuster.  Why?  Why did it take President Obama and the White House over a month to get back to Sen. Paul and then do so only after an almost 13 hour stand by Sen. Paul demanding an answer?  What gives?  Where is all that “transparency” Obama spoke of back in the day?

The fact is the President and this administration didn’t want to answer because if you look at how this President has governed he believes that whatever he does is right and pretty much the gospel.  The President didn’t want to play his hand because he actually believes he does have the authority to kill Americans who disagree with him and his polices on U.S. soil.  I know that may be hard to believe by some on the left but just look at how this President has governed.  Everything that this President does is a crisis.  He governs out of or more accurately with fear.  Fear the financial crisis, fear sequestration, fear Mitt Romney and the Mormons, fear Fox News and Rush Limbaugh, etc. etc. etc.

There has NEVER been a President with the ego this President has and when someone stands up to him it pisses him and his Republican cronies off (i.e. John McCain and Lindsey Graham).  You can bet your paycheck that Obama is trying to figure out a way to trash Sen. Paul.  He FEARS him because Sen. Paul is exactly what Obama is NOT, principled, a man of integrity, honest, and above all one who obeys and believes in our Founding Documents.

Sen. Paul did more than just filibuster John Brennan on Wednesday.  He stood against a tyrant and won!!  He demanded an answer from the White House and got it, whether they really wanted to give one or not!!  Sen. Paul united American‘s behind a common cause of Freedom and Liberty!!  just look at the outpouring of support from those on the left:  ACLU, liberal progressive actor John Cusack, and many other liberals from around the country.

What does that tell us?  That Sen. Paul is a unifier.  He can bring people together who disagree in support of a common cause.  Something Obama wishes he could do but fails miserably at.  Sen. Paul is a threat because he represents a growing movement in this country that is neither Republican or Democrat, it is a movement that believes in Freedom and Liberty for all people, and demands that elected leaders obey the Constitution on which they swear an oath to defend.  It is a movement that will forever change the history and direction of our country and Rand Paul just assumed leadership!!

Until next time.

Much love,

The “Liberty Movement” will fail unless……..

Liberty 1   I have been an active member in the political life of this country for the better part of 13 years and a member of the “Liberty Movement” since 2004.  I have campaigned, called, blogged, called radio shows, talked to friends and family, been a member of the Tea Party, and done my best to wake people up to the fact that our government has grown too big to sustain and is a direct threat to the liberties and freedoms of the American people. I have met amazing people, both young and old, who love this country and will fight with everything within them to restore Constitutional government.  I have met people who have given up money, time with their families, and even their lives in order to revive the cause of Liberty in our fellow Americans.  However, I honestly believe that if the “Liberty Movement” is to truly be successful it must grab hold of a few very important truths, if it doesn’t, it will be remembered not as a powerful force of change but as a flash in the pan movement that did nothing to really impact the country.  IF the “Liberty Movement” doesn’t want to fail it MUST do the following:

      1.  Return to a reliance upon God.

I hear people within the “Liberty Movement” all the time talk about Freedom and Liberty and how we need to restore Constitutional Rule of Law, but unless this movement begins to publicly acknowledge God and His rule we will fail.   I am not saying everyone needs to convert to Christianity but just a brief look at our Founder’s gives us a glance at what they thought of God and our national and personal need for Him.

“It is the duty of ALL nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly implore His protection and favor.”

George Washington

“ The safety and prosperity of nations ultimately and essentially depend on the protection and blessing of Almighty God, and the national acknowledgement of this truth is an indispensable duty which the people own to Him.”

John Adams

2. Building bridges instead of burning them.

I have burned plenty of bridges in my life and every time I have I have regretted it.  The “Liberty Movement” is stocked full of people who are deeply passionate about restoring Constitutional Rule of Law and while I agree with them 100% on that I find that some within the movement are very egotistical.  As if they have defended the beachheads of liberty for so long that they are tired of people questioning them or not agreeing with everything they believe about how our Constitutional government is supposed to work.

Take for example Glenn Beck.  Glenn has of late become more and more libertarian in his views of government.  While he is certainly not a 100% died in the wool libertarian, he has grown over the years to really become a valuable member of the growing “Liberty Movement.”  But you wouldn’t have guessed that had you heard some libertarians and other “Liberty Movement” folks talk about Beck.  Many are demanding that he apologize for his stance on the Patriot Act or his support of George W. Bush and the wars in the Middle East.

May I ask all those so against Glenn Beck and demanding that he apologizes for former stances; “Have you apologized for voting for Barack Obama in 2008?”  “Have you apologized for supporting George W. Bush and the wars in the Middle East?”  I won’t hold my breath!!

My problem with some within the “Liberty Movement,” is that they think they are relevant.  They’re not.  The “Liberty Movement” only accounted for 1% of the Presidential vote in 2012.  While it is awesome that we even registered on the radar, the truth is we have a long way to go and demanding that those who are beginning to come to our side “apologize” or “fall in line,” is going to do nothing more than turn people away!!

The truth is that the “Liberty Movement” WILL fail unless it does the above points.  We can talk all day long about liberty and freedom but unless we seek the ultimate source of liberty and freedom we will fail!! We will also fail if we keep burning bridges with those coming to our way of thinking.  The only way for us to grow is to connect with others and to demand that they agree with us 100% (something the Founding Fathers didn’t even do) is childish and absurd.

I for one will GLADLY work and fight beside someone who I disagree with only some of the time to fight those I disagrees with ALL OF THE TIME!!!     This may ruffle some feathers within the movement but frankly if the “Liberty Movement” can’t see that it needs to rely on God like our Fathers did before us and build alliances instead of destroy new members than we deserve to fail!!  PERIOD!!

Until next time.

Much love,

Shawn

Who raped Miss Delaware?

Miss Delaware 1

She is young, she is beautiful, and she was raped.

Unless you have lived under a rock the last couple of days then you have heard about the “Miss Delaware Teen USA scandal.”  Beautiful girl wins state beauty contest and has to give up her crown because of her ties to an amateur porn video that was discovered with someone who looks an awful lot like her.  Of course she has come out and denied being involved but the damage has been done.  With that said I wanted to touch on a few things concerning this case:

First:  This story took off in the mainstream media because the media loves a good story where someone is being dehumanized, but I am really disappointed in conservative media personalities Bill O’ Reilly and Greg Gutfeld, on how they are treating this case.  Instead of demanding the identities of the men who so willingly took advantage of a young beautiful girl, they are attacking the girl, her upbringing, and propping themselves up as perfect moral standard bearers of right and wrong.  They are acting just like the men who took advantage of this young woman by pretending they are outraged by this crime.  They are NOT outraged.  Bill O’ Reilly and Greg Getfeld do not care about the young woman in the porn video.  If they did they would be DEMANDING that the men who took this girl in, probably gave her drugs and alcohol or both, promised big money, and then treated her like she was a piece of meat for personal pleasure, would be brought to justice.  But they are not doing so because deep down they do not really care.  They are only after ratings.

Second:  Why are we looking at the life of a girl who says she “needed the money,” and she “thought it would be fun,” to be involved in a amateur porn video instead of the looking at what is really going on, that in reality, what happened was this girl was coerced into being raped.  I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who see porn as nothing more than “adult entertainment,” and while I am not trying to be the morality police, we as a society, and those of us committed to standing up for what is right, must fight injustice in every form it takes including things like porn.  The reality is porn is human trafficking.  Humans, men and women, boys and girls are dehumanized for pleasure.  Do they get paid?  Some do, but the majority are locked in the bondage of drugs, alcohol, and abuse they cannot leave.  Many are young girls no older than 14.  Think about that for a moment the next time you are looking to wack off to a hot girl getting it on with some ripped out steroid filled piece of man meat.

Have I seen porn?  Of course.  What man in this country hasn’t?  I even understand the mentally of seeing beautiful women naked and dreaming of having sex with them.  I’m not saying that’s good, I’m just saying I understand it.  However, porn is not what we think it is.  It is an industry at the head of the human trafficking problem in the world and it is an industry where over 100 people have died since 2007.  The fasting growing part of the porn industry?  Child pornography, including children as young as 8 years old.  Is this an industry that is “just entertainment?”  What if it was your daughter?

I’m not out to end the porn industry, it will end when people wake up to the fact that people are more than meat, they are precious lives whom God loves.  However, I am here to point out the fact that as someone who has viewed porn and seen things that no one should ever see, there is more to the porn industry than meets the eye.  Just ask a few people who have been in it:

Ask yourself, is this something you want to be a part of even in your most lustful state?  Do you want to contribute to the dehumanization of another?  Picture your son or daughter next time you watch as Miss Delaware gets raped.  We as a society should not further dehumanize a beautiful girl for making a stupid decision, we should look deeper at the root cause and fight the injustice that is going on behind the scenes.

Until next time.

Much love,

Shawn

Glenn Beck, the Voice of the Liberty Movement?

glenn beck 1

There has been a lot of controversy lately within the “Liberty Movement,” concerning Glenn Beck and his comments about beginning to lean libertarian in his political views.  For some reason this has caused some within the “Liberty Movement,” to demand that Beck apologize for holding views that were not very libertarian.  I do not understand this?!?!  Why do some within the “Liberty Movement” think that they hold some kind of moral high ground on those they disagree with?  Why do some within the “Liberty Movement” act like they have never held views that they now disagree with??!

I have been listening to Glenn Beck for at least 12 years!!  I like him.  No!!  I LOVE his show, books, and pretty much enjoy listening to him as often as possible.  I don’t always agree with him but I do about 90% of the time, so for me I would rather listen to someone who I agree with 90% of the time instead of arguing with him about the 10% of the time we disagree.  This is the problem within the “Liberty Movement,” unless you agree with them 100% of the time your not a “true patriot.”  First, that is the most ridiculous crap I have ever heard and second, it borders on being a cult!!  Libertarians like the pretend that they have had power in elections for the last several years when in reality they have always been a fringe movement.  However, I believe their time has come much like Glenn Beck does!!

Everyone develops and grows in their philosophies in life, not everyone who considers themselves libertarians today considered themselves one in 2008.  I know people who voted for Barack Obama in 2008 who voted for Ron Paul in 2012.  We are all growing and if this movement is to gain strength and influence we would do well to embrace those who are coming to our side in the media, celebrities, and politicians.  If we don’t we will continue to be a fringe movement that gets 1% of the vote!!

Is Glenn Beck the “Voice of the Liberty Movement?”  Is there anyone else with a national audience reaching to moderate Republicans and  Conservatives with the libertarian message?  No, not even Alex Jones has the reach of Glenn Beck.

Until next time.

Much love,

Shawn

Working on building this site.

Life 4

I apologize for the lack of post on this page.  My family and I have been working to help our family business get back to a profitable position and it takes a lot of work!!  I opened this blog because I wanted a place to share my thoughts on the political life of my country.  I wanted a place where I could share my Conservative/Libertarian views and how I believe they can help save and restore this country from the mess we are in.  I don’t have all the answers.  I am just a husband, father of 3 beautiful children, and business owner who is trying to make the country I love a better place for my children and grandchildren.

I love America and I believe in the values and principles that our Founders used to build and establish our nation and our Founding Documents.  I believe that America is great because her people are good.  I believe that we can get back to the position of being a “City on a Hill,” reflecting the light of Freedom and Liberty.  However, it will require knowledge, work, and a passion that will not die or give up!!  I believe America’s best days are ahead of her because I believe that a generation of people are waking up to realize that our leaders on BOTH sides have disobeyed the will of the people and betrayed their oaths to our great Constitution.

We can change things if we don’t give up!!

God Bless,

Shawn
